Chisomo Etta (real name Chisomo Chirambo) is an Afrobeat and R&B artist from Rumphi, Mwazisi, Malawi. She started her music career at a young age, singing in church. Her father, Mr. Donald Chirambo, who was the choirmaster of the Chikondi Choir, played a big role in shaping her music journey. He taught her how to compose songs and encouraged her passion for music.
In 2009, Chisomo Etta wrote her first solo song, Mzimu Oyera. This song was an important step in her music career and helped her grow as a songwriter and artist.
Chisomo Etta sees herself as a resilient person. Even though her music journey has not always been easy, she has never given up on composing and recording songs.
She released an album in 2020 with Tricky Beats and has also dropped singles with Yobbe and DJ Moo in 2023 and 2024. Chisomo blends Chichewa, Tumbuka, and English in her music, creating a unique sound that mixes different languages and styles.
Currently, she is working on a new song called Batuba, which encourages people to stay strong and trust that God is always there for them, no matter the challenges they face.
Chisomo Etta is an independent artist and has not yet signed with a music label.
