Biography

Andrew Mijoya aka Dr. Drew, is a multi-talented singer and songwriter, who is a former band member of Faith Mussa's Mdidi Band. He wrote his first song at the age of eighteen and at that time he had also started a singing group called Third Heaven. He went solo from the group and recorded several songs with different artists including Singer Zai, Young Mlera, Phillip Sajiwa, Joy Shana Jenda and Melody Mijoya who was a member of his old group. He is currently recording his debut album. He has been influenced by the likes of Faith Mussa, Sam Mjura Mkandawire, Wambali Mkandawire, and Pastor Moffat Mtegha locally. He also looks up to these other non-Malawian aritsts: Israel Houghton, Fred Hammond, J Moss, Rachael Nanyangwe and Dr. Tumi
