Biography
Di-Mantis (Born Edgar B. Shawa by Government) is a Malawian Dancehall artist. He is a Lilongwe based artist and C.E.O of M'bebe studio Productions situated in area 38 (Kaphiri) II. He began his career as a hip-hop artist Max-E but later changed his brand name to Di-Mantis in the Dancehall industry. He is exposed to several genres and musical fuses as he can also do both Hip-hop and Dancehall on one track and totally sound different sort like a feature. He was inspired by the late Don Wagon, Blasto, Chycoon just to mention a few on the local and protogy leading on his international stand. Nevertheless Di-Mantis has jumped on several riddims mixed by Dj Spider such as Jezebel, Midzodzo and Love Clinic riddims and working on more different record labels like Silver House, Njuchi Records and New Productions. In terms of achievements, he is award winner for Dancehall up coming artist in 2017, noticing new talent and managing for those performing. He also released 2 mixtapes (Jat Rudah 1 and 2) - Jat Rudah means breaking through security. He is set to release his first studio album "Dancehall Artist Mpaka Umwalire" The album will have 15 tracks including "Good and Bad", "Mwana Wamkango" and "Life" plus also three bonus tracks which features Ink Heart, Mr G and Rayfane.
