Review : Don’t Even Look For Trouble is an inspiring album with a movement set to educate, entertain as well as document the township/community life. The idea of the album was to share a platform for freedom as an expression through songs. Around may 2019 just before the first COVID-19 Lockdown in South Africa we had set up a studio and called a couple of friends to just make music. The concept behind D.E.L.F.T is a global approach to the realities faced in our communities. The conditions are not that favourable to the people who create opportunities on a small scale. As artists we found joy in creating music that the younger generation shall embrace. It took us a month or two to record the album until the first lockdown happened everybody lost their grip. The purpose is to make sure that the album D.E.L.F.T(Don't Even Look For Trouble) and its single releases make an impact publicly by the time of release. A message to share globally of bright ideas and creative entities. The album was recorded in Delft Subaben due to the suffering and day to day hustling that one has to go through just to get by. This is part One of the cream of the crop artists and talents you can come across in a community like ours. The music is orchestrated by samples as well as deep sentimental chord progressions that spice up the delivery of each artist. For a start we’d like to thank everybody who was a part of the project. It took a long time to get everything together but we finally did. We thank GOD for that. For our production team and DMG members we are grateful to present to you this album. This is from the people of Delft to every ghetto in the world. As a resident for 3yrs in the community, Genii Blakk has collaborated with other creatives in making the album D.E.L.F.T. Having too little but learning how to use it is one of the most vital things in life. On these streets there’s dreamers, visionaries and all sorts of awesome individuals you can think of, due to the population and our daily struggle to survive we seek other quicker options, hence the high crime rate. Our vision is to speak to the kids because we see ourselves when we look at them. Our music is a reminder to the young ones that they also can change for the better as we would wanna reflect. The songs are there to uplift those that lose hope from their daily circumstances. Seeing that the shape of their community is less attractive, we wish to improve it. Music is part of how we easily communicate to the people. We want people from communities to also voice out their thoughts, creating jobs, raising awareness and entertaining them just like the rest do in other prominent areas. Seeing the talent that the township has raised, one can truly agree that an African Child is one that's attached to the ongoing struggle. This project wishes to empower young people to become what they would like to be in their field of expertise. As DMG our goal is to bridge the gap between local talent and international talent. Discovering such diamonds in the rough we come across a lot to deliver such magnificent content. Working with different people having different ethnic backgrounds you find the balance to bridging the gap of peace. Seeing everybody come together like that we get to hear views from their journey in life and wish to learn from their experiences. As a team we are greatly humbled that we did this album together and would like to share with the world what it is like to be African. As loving, peaceful, humble, learning to contribute in making this world a better place for everyone but more importantly to not forget ourselves. In this album you hear stories that are hidden beneath the art to be what it is. Victims of rape, murder and injustice but yet survivors of the struggle. Our story is to be told for every Ghetto in the world. We’re very thankful for the following names for making this album and adventure great: Daniel Mkwezalamba, Stephen Murcott, Peter ‘Smitty’ Ngwale, Vircho Reent, Carisha Mahambie, Styven Fatuma, Emanuel Naphy Kapeni, Enuku “Nux” Lipenga, Vusumzi Leon Mboli, Siphumze Fumanisa, Lawrence Sihepo, Melak Zolani Heleni, Thabo Sibozi, Ukona Patronella Mayapi, Atenkosi Breakfast, Tendai Makhala,Thina Hanshe, Janique Van Blerk, Wanele Selela, Aviwe Mzilikazi, Liso Somila Toyi Sindo, Siya Seya, Sir Julius Malema, ElwynKachere, Pastor Charles George, Chloe Murcott, Kelvin “X Kel'' Banda, Steady Msengie, Cameron Cupido, Lucille Petersen, Lindokuhle Lee Kalolo,LJ Nkumba, PrinceSA, NALI Limited, Mo of Deep Settle Clothing, Honourable samuel Desmond ohanuka, Malawi Broadcasting Corporation, SAE Film Institute Cape Town and all the kids growing up in rough neighbourhoods.
