Biography

Genesis is a Malawi musician based in Blantyre Machinjiri. His real name is Genius Genesis Makawa who happens to be the first born in family of 4 of Pastor Makawa. Genesis started doing music around 2009 when he was in grade 7 in primary school. When he was at the age of 12-14 years, his Aunt forced him and his brother's to join church choir. After some time, Genesis deveeloped the spirit of loving music, he always make himself available for choir rehearsals. Wen he went to secondary school level, he joined a certain ministry/ fellowship where he advanced his singing career in the ministries worship team. In 2018, Genisis released his first ever song titled "Ufulu Wanga" thats when he was about to complete his educatin in Tertiary level. In 2023, He has managed to release another song titled "Ndiyamika". In his music journey, Genesis,won 2020 Yesu Anakonza Award and in 2023, he was the winner as the best song writer of BMS Song writing Competition.
