Biography

Based in Lilongwe, the Soul Raiders is a music outfit that prides itself in quality conscious reggae music. With its roots from Chancellor College, the new group resumed performances in the capital city with original members Prince Martin, Suzi Marcus & Prince Montfort Manyozo as well as Prince's former band mates from the ghetto. The Raiders have worked with most local artists, performing in concerts, festivals and reggae shows. The band's discography includes Prince Martin's 'African Skies' recorded by Ralph Ching'amba in 2010 and the 2 Soul Raiders albums, 'Angels' & 'Reggae Revolution' released in 2012 and 2014 respectively. Ralph produced 'Angels' while the former was produced by Prince Monty Manyozo. 2016 saw the addition of female back vocalists, Ayana and Muti, spicing up the shows. A number of solo projects by the various artists within the band have been planned, with the first to be completed in December 2016 with a planned launch date in March, 2017. The album titled 'Ubuntu' is to be released under the brand 'Prince Martin & the Soul Raiders. Ubuntu has been produced at Blue Island Studios and features JJ Munthali, Prince Montfort Manyozo and Ernest Ikwanga (instruments) and Prince, Ayana and Muti(voices).
