Peter Arame who goes by the stage name Ayram is a Malawian MC who lives in Blantyre City. He is a student currently studying Procurement and Supply at Polytechnic Management Development Centre.
He started rapping at the age of 16 in 2011.Though he was a secular artist then he never was a fan of profanity which was weird considering secular hip-hop is full of profane lyrics. However, even though the music he released had no profanity in them , he felt he did not use his God given talent rightly. He confesses his music was full of pride and “fictional bars” as he likes to call them.
In 2011 Ayram released his first song “How Its done”, which was recorded after three classmates decided to go to the studio after they joked about how everybody was a rapper then. Surprisingly for him he loved the experience and convinced the other two friends to record a remix of the song. Rapping now become a hobby for Ayram who was known as “Protozoa” then.
In September 2013, a friend by the name Bob visited him and out of nowhere told him God is not pleased with the way he was using his talent. This prompted Ayram to stop rapping and work on his relationship with God rather than immediately switching to gospel hip-hop
He then returned to the studio in 2016 after he felt was the right time to record music. He never released any of his recorded work that year. 2017 was the year he finally decided to release his first song “Pupa & Larvae” with Dawson, an artist who got nominated for Best SONG WRITER OF THE YEAR in the African Music awards (AFRIMA) nominee.
He is known for his crazy wordplay, metaphors and punchlines.
And on he is now releasing his second single titled "X-Ray" featuring Gazelle who happens to be one of Malawi's best vocalists. The song will be released on 14 December 2018.
