Biography

Born Right Kanyama, Rightbuddy is an upcoming artist from Malawi, the Warm Heart of Africa”. He creatively fuses the Malawian traditional rhythm with Afro beats to make soul soothing and highly logical music. Through his songs, co-produced and directed by Mathews Lambulira, he aims at advising, educating and entertaining Malawians and other Africans regardless of the age, wealth, education and religious backgrounds. He also aims at promoting Malawian cultural and natural attractions and other tourism products offered by the country through his lyrics and music videos. This is the reason he calls his first album Warmheart I, from “Malawi, The Warm Heart of Africa”. His first album contains songs like Buluzi ndi Buluzi, Ndizakusowani, Legeni, Chipsera, Midzu, Tandiimilire just to mention a few. The songs contain thoughtful lyrical content. According to Rightbuddy, “music builds on realities of life and is celebrated by everyone”. He is not just a singer with amazing vocals, but he is also a music producer since 2007. Rightbuddy started music in 2006 appearing in church music performances. Since then, he has been producing songs for himself and other upcoming artists. Financial challenges have been preventing him from taking music to heights for so long. By the grace of God, My Challenge has seen the potential in the artist and has come to the rescue and is currently promoting the artist. My Challenge is a Malawian based initiative which aims at promoting local talents and innovative ideas in different areas including music and also aims at harnessing and promoting community problem solving techniques by Malawian youth especially those who lack financial and technical support. Rightbuddy admires the work of Malawian artists such as Paul Banda, Wambali Mkandawire, Lawi, Lucias Banda, Billy Kaunda, Mulaka Maliro among others. In future, he hopes to help other artists with stunning talents.
