Saluter was born in Zimbabwe in 1974 but came to Malawi in 1986. Saluter's debut was in 2002 when he composed a tribute to Evison Matafale in which he featured Mikaya B and General Mak.
Previously known as King David, Saluter comes from a strong musical background growing up in a family belonging to the Salvation Army.
His hit song "Ung'ono ung'ono" spawned the now infamous campaign slogans associated with Atupele Muluzi even though the song is not a political endorsement.
