The BlackFace Family is a dancehall music group consisting of three brothers and a childhood friend, namely Limbani, Joel and William Phiri and Nick Gondwe.
Better known by their stage names, Sparrow, Twiggy, Jah Face and Kritique respectively, the group’s style is a fusion of dancehall, reggae, dance/house, reggae, hiphop and pop genres.
A gem of their own trade, the BlackFace Family have shared the stage with other Malawi’s finest artists such as Tay Grin, Theo Thomson, BlakJak, Piksy, Mabilinganya Empire (founded by late Mafunyeta), Piksy, Don Daddaz Alliance, Blacka Fella, Ga Cypha, Excess, Pon G & Weapon, Stich Fray, Bucci and Aycee James.
They have worked with Malawi’s top producers such as Zephy Oldies, DareDevils, V2, StichFray, and Excess.
The group has worked with UNFPA on a Lets Condomise Campaign (in 2013) and PSI (in 2015) to sensitise the youths on the use of condoms as an HIV preventative tool.
