Biography

Victor Paul was born and bred in Malawi 36 years ago. He started music in the early 1980’s at the Roman Catholic Church in Malawi at Balaka Township. Victor Paul eventually began performing with his cousin, Lucius "Chico" Banda as a keyboardist in his band in the early stages of his music career.

He describes his music as Conscious Reggae where he touches issues which affects people on their daily lives and puts it in a great melodious way to be inspirational to someone.

Victor has been performing and having many international gigs in Africa and Europe before he even released his first debut album PAMUDZI (In the Village) which took Malawi by storm with the hit single “ AMAYI”(My mother). He performed alongside big artist such as Oliver Mtukudzi, Mafikizolo, Lucius Banda, Paul Banda, the late Paul Chaphuka, Dj Mushuku and The Burning Sounds. Victor’s early singles, including Mutsale Bwino,"(Bambo a lonjenzo) "Munthu Ndi Ovuta" “Ndatsalandekha”and "Usamandipinge," drew praise and led to the release of his debut album, “Mutsale Bwino “(Goodbye) which took Malawi by storm.

He is now relocated to South Africa where he has just completed his third album “Tribute” which talks about the lifestyle of his late mother Theresa on how she raised and natured him as a single mother who later passed away. He dedicates this album to his family in loving memories of his mother and paying tribute to all fallen great Malawian artists.
